Frequently Asked Questions
Here's what your ops, IT, and finance teams will want to know before PalletVision goes in at your wrap station. Straight answers on the pilot, pricing, install, security, and integration. If your question isn't covered, book a call with our team.
Will it work with my wrapper?
If you run a turntable stretch wrapper, yes. PalletVision mounts beside your existing wrapper, so you don't need new equipment, and it works with older machines too.
You'll need a permanent structure near the wrapper to mount the camera on, at the right distance from the turntable. Our camera mounting guide walks you through exactly where that should be.
Orbital and inline wrappers aren't supported yet.
How does the unit connect?
The unit connects through your Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection, whichever works best at your wrap station.
Where does the camera go, and how do we install it?
The camera mounts on a permanent structure about 7.5 to 8.5 feet from the center of your turntable. The exact distance depends on your tallest load. The camera needs to see the full stack, from the turntable deck to the top of the load, so taller loads need a little more distance.
Most customers install it themselves using our camera mounting guide. Before you mount anything, you'll measure your turntable deck height and your tallest expected load. Then you test the position with a real load before drilling anything permanent. Once it's mounted, we calibrate it remotely, and our support team is there if you need help.
Can it capture weight?
Yes. If your turntable has a built-in scale, PalletVision can pull the weight directly at no extra cost. If it doesn't, your operator can enter the weight at the kiosk. Either way, the weight goes into the pallet's record alongside its dimensions and images.
How does the pilot work?
You get 30 days to run PalletVision on your own wrap station, with your own freight, at no cost. We ship the unit, you mount it using our camera mounting guide, and we calibrate it remotely. We ask for a credit card or bank account on file to secure the hardware during the pilot.
At the end of 30 days, you decide. If you want to keep it, there's nothing to do: the hardware is charged to the card or account on file, and your subscription starts. If it's not the right fit, send the unit back before day 30 and you won't be charged.

Will this pass our IT review?
PalletVision is built to clear IT review, and we recommend bringing your IT team in early so nothing holds up your install.
No open doors into your network. The unit has no open inbound ports, so an external scan of your site won't find any exposed PalletVision services.
Your data stays separate. Your devices and your data are separated from every other customer's.
Raw video stays on site. Images are processed on the unit itself. Only inspection results, images, and metadata go to the cloud, and the raw video never leaves your dock.
Locked down hardware. The unit runs as a sealed appliance, with no desktop, no browser, and no USB storage.
Encrypted and patched. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Software updates are signed, security patches apply daily, and reboots only happen overnight.
Controlled support access. Every remote support session is logged, and access can be revoked instantly.
Our security program is aligned to SOC 2, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls. For the full details, read our security protocol by clicking here.
What support do we get?
Remote support is included with your subscription. We watch every unit from a central dashboard, so if a unit stops checking in or something changes in its setup, our team is alerted right away, often before you notice. Security updates install automatically, and reboots only happen overnight.

Does it connect to my WMS, TMS, or ERP?
Yes, and there are a few ways to do it, depending on how deep you want to go.
-
Barcode: Every pallet gets a label with a barcode your team can scan with a hand scanner. That links the PalletVision record to your system, with no IT work required.
-
API: You can pull pallet data directly from PalletVision into your own systems.
-
Custom integration: If you need something more specific, we'll scope it with your IT team and quote the development work.
What does it cost?
The hardware is $1,995 per unit, with a 1-year warranty. The software is $595/month per unit, which covers unlimited users and remote support.
Most wrap stations need one unit. Some non-standard setups need more than one camera, and we'll confirm what yours needs before you order.
If you're running multiple facilities, enterprise pricing is set at the facility level, so talk to us about your ops and we'll work with you to ensure the best value.
What kind of return can we expect?
That depends on your dock. Run your numbers in our Dock Leak Calculator to see where yours is losing money. Most of the return comes from four places:
- Claims you can win. Every pallet leaves with a verified digital record, so when a load is disputed, you have proof of its condition at the dock.
- Fewer reclass and reweight fees. Exact dimensions at the wrap station mean fewer surprise charges from carriers.
- Time back on the dock. PalletVision saves an estimated 10 to 15 minutes per pallet on manual measuring, photos, and paperwork, depending on your current process.
- Less wasted film. You see how each load is wrapped, so you can spot overwrapping.
What is the Load Health Score?
It's a score for every pallet, generated at the wrap station before the load leaves your dock. It tells your operator whether the wrap will hold the load together in transit, so a weak pallet gets caught and rewrapped at your dock instead of failing on the truck.
The score goes into the pallet's digital record with its images and dimensions. That gives you proof of how the load left your dock if a claim comes in later.
